The Zlin Shock Ultra is an ultralight, short takeoff and landing (STOL), and civil utility airplane manufactured by Zlin Aircraft.

“ In 2016, Czech-based Zlin Aviation set out to shock and awe the light-sport-aircraft market with its aptly-named Shock Cub, a beefy bush plane praised for remarkable short takeoff and performance stats. Then came the company's lighter Shock Ultra, which effectively upped the adventure-aviation game.

Unveiled at the 2018 Aero Friedrichshafen show, the Shock Ultra retains several predecessor features, most notably a Hyper-STOL wing profile for shorter takeoff and faster climb, double-slotted fowler flaps for low-speed control, and rugged outboard shock absorbers for taming unpredictable terrain.

Where the Ultra sets itself apart is its weight. With optimizations throughout the entire airframe, this two-seat, tube-and-fabric taildragger is the lightest aircraft specialized for bush-flying on the market. Yet its reinforced and refined fuselage framework ensures the Ultra is as strong as ever.
