Aircraft & Avionics Update I (AAU1) (Patch TBA), is an upcoming aircraft and avionics update for Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020) which is scheduled to release in January, 2023.

Summary

Following the addition of Working Title as a full-time partner of Microsoft and Asobo[1], the team has been hard at work. Beginning with AAU1, the Aircraft & Avionics Updates will focus on[2]:

  • Improvements to the Prem. Dlx. ed. and Dlx. ed. aircraft for which user feedback indicates were being left behind by new additions

Garmin GNS 430W and GNS 530W

The existing Working Title GNS 430W and 530W, currently available for free on the in-sim Marketplace, will become more of a default in some aircraft. It features[3]:

  • Authentic visuals: custom font, colors for that authentic feel
  • Next gen flight plan (with GNS specific limitations)
  • Full RNAV capability (LPV, LP, LNAV/VNAV, +V)
  • Procedure previews
  • Keyboard entry mode
  • VNAV planning page
  • Spec-accurate ADS-B TAS traffic system
  • Full GPS and SBAS simulation (real world satellite positions)
  • Enhanced NRST and WPT pages, authentic airport symbology
  • Enhanced maps, options, settings

Cessna CitationJet CJ4

Changes include the following[4]:

  • Improved soundscape
  • New and improved flight model
  • Avionics visual overhaul for even more accuracy (no mod code)
  • Next gen flight plan system (RF, intercepts, complex procs)
  • Split FMCs and MFDs with per-screen settings
  • Improved CAS and FMC message systems
  • Full TCAS-II implementation (TAs, RAs)
  • Keyboard entry mode (FMC)
  • Enhanced VNAV with path smoothing, vertical direct-to
  • Pilot waypoints, boot screen, AHRS alignment

Garmin G3000 and G5000

Changes include the following[5]:

  • Authentic visuals: font, colors, icons, looks identical to real life
  • Next gen flight plan system: RNP, RF, intercepts, complex procs
  • Fully coupled VNAV (two types)
  • PFD and MFD can operate in split pane
  • User defined waypoints
  • Full RNAV support (LPV, LP, LNAV/VNAV, +V)
  • Full GPS and SBAS simulation
  • Advanced waypoint info pages (airport METARs)
  • Plugin system support for developers

Changes include the following[6]:

  • EIS tweaks for more visual accuracy
  • Includes the new G3000!
  • Fully modeled electrical system
  • Systems synoptics
  • Open the doors for some fresh air
  • VNAV capability

Cessna Citation Longitude

Changes include the following[7]:

  • Advanced VNAV with climb, path-smoothing, fully editable FPAs
  • Autothrottle with FMS-managed speed mode
  • Full TCAS-II system (TAs, RAs)
  • Takeoff and landing performance calcs (V-speeds)
  • Deep systems modeling with associated synoptics:
    • Bleed air: affects starts, ECS, pressurization
    • ECS: full temperature modeling, routing
    • Hydraulics: temp sim, pressures, system effects, PTCU
    • Fuel: pressures, temps, routing
    • Pressurization: multiple controller modes, schedules, GTC control
    • Electrical: multiple buses, charge rates, logic, PTCU interaction
