Light Aircraft

A light aircraft is any aircraft which is certified with a Maximum Gross Takeoff Weight (MTOW) of less than or equal to 12,500 lb (5,670 kg).

Heavy

Heavy is a callsign modifier useful for rapid identification of aircraft requiring greater wake turbulence separation minima than other aircraft. The sole qualification is a certified Maximum Gross Takeoff Weight (MTOW) of greater than 300,000 lb (136,078 kg), regardless of whether or not it is operating at this weight during a particular phase of flight. Exceptions are the Airbus A380-800 and Antonov An-225 which qualify but are referred to instead as super.

Super

Super is a callsign modifier useful for rapid identification of aircraft requiring even greater wake turbulence separation minima than heavy aircraft. It is used exclusively with the Airbus A380-800 and Antonov An-225.
