“	The Sukhoi Su-31 is a single-engine, single-seat sport and aerobatic monoplane produced by Russian aircraft manufacturer Sukhoi. The aircraft was developed from the company's earlier Su-26, with notable differences in the -31 that include having an all-composite rear fuselage and more sensitive controls. The aircraft, which first flew as a prototype in June of 1992 and became available in late 1994, is a favorite of a number of international aerobatics champions due to its ability to perform extreme aerobatics. The Su-31 features a low wing with a span of 25 ft 7 in (7.80 m), a fixed taildragger landing gear, a bubble canopy, and a traditional empennage. The aircraft is powered by a 9-cylinder, air-cooled Vedeneyev M-14PF radial engine that produces 400 hp (298 kW) and drives a constant-speed 3-blade propeller. The Sukhoi has a top speed of 179 kn (332 km/h), cruises at 161 kn (298 km/h), and a never exceed speed of 243 kn (450 km/h). It can climb at 4,700 ft (1,433 m) per minute and has a range of 591 nmi (1,095 km). Sukhoi designed the Su-31, of which only 36 were built, to withstand extreme forces; it can handle up to +12 g's and -10 g's. Its form and construction, combined with the power of its engine, make the Su-31 able to execute the most intense aerobatics imaginable, and some maneuvers that many might not be able to imagine until they see them with their own eyes. The Su-31 is not for amateurs. The unforgiving aircraft does exactly what the pilot tells it to do, immediately, including roll at 400 degrees per second.
