The Guimbal Cabri G2 is a civil utility helicopter manufactured by Hélicoptères Guimbal.

Summary

“ The Guimbal Cabri G2 is 2-place, single-engine light helicopter designed and produced by France’s Hélicoptères Guimbal. A relatively new offering in the world of rotorcraft, the G2 took its first flight on March 31, 2005 and entered service in 2008. The helicopter is a showcase of modern aerospace technology, notably its all-composite body, skid landing gear assembly, avionics and flight controls, and its rotor systems.

More than 220 have been delivered, with most being used for training purposes. Its design also allows it to be adapted easily to an unmanned aerial vehicle, with a broad array of possible utilities.

The Guimbal Cabri G2 features a 3-blade, fully-articulated, composite-construction main rotor system with a diameter of 23 ft 7 in (7.19 m) and a 7-blade Fenestron for an anti-torque tail rotor. Its landing skids are attached to the body with vibration-absorbing and shock-dampening polymers. The cockpit has side-by-side seating and a glass cockpit with advanced avionics, controls, and flight management system.

The helicopter is powered by a single Textron Lycoming O360-J2A 4-cylinder piston engine that delivers up to 160 hp (119 kW). The G2 can hover out-of-ground-effect at up to 7,500 ft (2,286 m) above sea level, has a range of 437 mi (380 nmi; 703 km), and has a maximum endurance of 4 hours, 30 minutes. It cruises at 104 mph (90 kn; 167 km/h) and has a maximum level-flying speed rate of 115 mph (100 kn; 185 km/h).
